Wednesday 7th March 2012

Well here I am nearly at the end of 4 weeks at work! I am now up to 4 hours a day and I am still coming home and snoozing on the sofa for an hour or two in the afternoons. Goodness knows what I am going to do when it gets to 6 hrs a day - 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon - no snoozles then.

Well the pain is still no better and it seems to be predominately in my left hip only. Unfortunately the blood test showed very little up - yes the inflamation markers were raised very slightly, so little that it was hardly worth mentioning it. So bang goes that theory.

Tomorrow I am having my bone scan, and will have to wait for an appointment with the oncologist to find the reults out as the nurse will not be able to give them to me in person or over the phone, good or bad.

I am a tad worried (when wouldn't I be) about them finding somewhere to put the needle in - my phobia has not got any better, and my veins have all but disappeared! The one good one was buggered up when I had the blood test done over two weeks ago and I still have a lovely purple "bruise" to show for it. The veins in my hand are very small and buried, so I am expecting to have to plunge my hand in hot water for some considerable time. Once the radioactive material has been pumped into me we will have to go away for a few hours as it takes time to permeate the body. So it looks like most of the day will be taken up tomorrow with Basingstoke and its environs.

I had a good day at work today in that I managed to reduce a 2ft pile of filing to about 6 inches - none of it mine I hasten to add, but it had been there since September last year. Now thankfully it is in the right folders and ready to be archived as it was the end of our financial year at the end of Feb. It completely knackered me doign it, but felt good to get it done and doing it for someone else who is not in a good place right now.

I will let you know how it goes and the resutls just as soon as I know myself!
